Becky Helfert Wedll was born and raised in East Helena and began formal dance training at the age of seventeen. She later trained at the University of Montana, where she earned a BFA with a double emphasis in Choreography and Performance and Studio Teaching. In 2008 Becky returned from Hawaii where she studied dance at the University of Hawaii and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Choreography and Performance. While in the islands Becky Studied with renowned dancers Gregg Lizenbery, Betsy Fisher, and Kumu Hula Noenoelani Zuttermeister (Lewis). She was both a company member with, and the director of the University of Hawaii’s touring
Dance Ensemble and was honored to perform the works of internationally recognized choreographers including Lotte Goslar, Shapiro and Smith, and Dr. Schaffer and Mr. Stern. Becky is a two time Montana Arts Council grant recipient and a current member of the Montana Dance Arts Association. For the past twenty years Becky has taught dancers from all over the world, from all walks of life. It is with great enthusiasm that she shares her knowledge with the dancers of Montana. |
